Despite scaling back his official activities, King Harald has stated that he has no plans to abdicate, unlike his second cousin Queen Margrethe II. The Danish royal couple arrived in Oslo on their 10th wedding anniversary and had recently made their first state visit to Sweden.

King Harald V of Norway, the oldest monarch in Europe, welcomed King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark on their second official visit abroad, following Queen Margrethe II’s abdication earlier this year. This visit marks a significant moment as King Harald recently returned to work after undergoing surgeries to implant pacemakers. Despite scaling back his official activities, King Harald has made it clear that he has no intention of abdicating, in contrast to Queen Margrethe II who stepped down after a 52-year reign.
