Mom sheds 126 pounds in 13 months with controversial diet after overcoming greediness

Verity Bambury, a UK mom, decided to prioritize her health after a difficult Christmas in 2020 where she overindulged. She made a resolution to lose weight and started the very low-calorie Cambridge diet, which helped her shed 126 pounds in 13 months. By following the diet, which consisted of meal replacement products and one low-calorie, high-protein meal a day, Bambury was able to achieve her weight loss goals.

Bambury, who had always struggled with her weight, found that activities like shopping became difficult as she became sweaty and out of breath. She attributed her weight issues to greed and a lack of control over her eating habits. By April 2021, she realized that her health was at risk due to her weight and decided to make a change. Starting the Cambridge diet, she lost 11 pounds in the first week and 28 pounds in the first month.

Despite concerns raised by nutrition experts about the safety and effectiveness of the Cambridge diet, Bambury saw fast results on the plan. By December 2021, she had lost a significant amount of weight but faced the challenge of holiday temptations. She decided to indulge in moderation and was able to enjoy Christmas without overindulging. By Christmas, she was able to fit into a size 16 dress and was proud of her progress.

More than two years later, Bambury has maintained her weight loss and now weighs around 175 pounds. She has embraced a healthier lifestyle, enjoying making Christmas memories with her son and choosing activities like shopping for festive outfits and going for walks on Christmas Day. Bambury has even become a 1:1 diet consultant, aiming to inspire others who are struggling with their weight through her brand one2oneVerity.

Before starting the Cambridge diet, Bambury’s diet consisted of high-calorie and unhealthy foods like sugary cereals, fast food, and snacks. After adopting the diet, she shifted to healthier options like fruit, yogurt, tuna salad, and chicken with salad or vegetables for meals. She also switched to low-calorie snacks like a low-calorie chocolate bar. Bambury is committed to her new lifestyle and has no intention of reverting back to her old habits, feeling proud of her transformation and the positive impact it has had on her life.
