The New York Times Connections puzzle challenges players to group 16 words into four sets based on a common connection, testing not just vocabulary but also critical thinking skills. The game editor strategically chooses words that can fit into multiple groups, making it a challenging brain teaser. In comparison to Wordle, which is more of a vocabulary test, Connections requires players to think creatively to identify the underlying connections between the words. Additionally, today’s Wordle answer and hints are provided for those interested in playing.

Strands is another game from the Times that is currently in beta, offering a new challenge for puzzle enthusiasts. Tips for playing Connections include mentally assigning the words to related groups of four and clicking on the ones that you think go together. The groups are color-coded, with yellow being the easiest and purple being the toughest. Sometimes, the connection may only involve a part of the word, adding an extra layer of complexity to the game. Paying close attention to the words and considering related terms can help players succeed in the game.

The hints for today’s Connections groups range from the easiest to the toughest, with clues provided for each set of words. The yellow group focuses on individuals with top billing, while the green group revolves around vulnerabilities associated with vampires. The blue group centers on satirical publications, and the purple group hints at a common thread among the words. Players can use these hints to help them identify the connections and successfully group the words accordingly.

Today’s Connections answers provide the solutions for each group of words, revealing the common themes that tie them together. The yellow group consists of words related to individuals with top billing, including headliner, lead, principal, and star. The green group features words associated with vampire vulnerabilities, such as cross, garlic, silver, and sun. The blue group includes words relating to satirical publications, such as Cracked, Lampoon, Mad, and Onion. Lastly, the purple group connects words related to “club ____”, including Med, music, sandwich, and soda, challenging players to think creatively and identify the common thread among them.
