The deadly attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow left at least 140 people dead and more than 360 injured, marking Russia’s deadliest attack since the 2003 Beslan school siege. Survivors of the attack are still grappling with the trauma and tragedy, with many trying to recover from the shock of the incident. Based on eyewitness accounts, camouflaged gunmen stormed the venue, shooting indiscriminately at concertgoers before setting fire to the building, leaving it in ruins.

Survivors of the attack recounted their harrowing experiences of trying to escape the chaos and violence that erupted inside Crocus City Hall. Many expressed their disbelief and confusion as the events unfolded, with the sound of gunshots sparking panic and chaos among those in attendance. Witnesses described moments of hiding, praying, and waiting for rescue while feeling the constant danger of the situation. Concerns were raised about the lack of security measures at the venue and the response time of law enforcement and emergency services.

In the aftermath of the attack, the survivors faced intense anxiety and fear, with many experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties. Some recounted panic attacks and the need for psychological help to cope with the trauma. The attack resulted in a high death toll, with the number of victims continuing to rise in the days following the incident. More than 5,000 people were evacuated from the concert hall, and dozens remained hospitalized due to their injuries.

Authorities identified four suspects allegedly involved in the attack, who were charged with terrorism and placed in pre-trial detention. Concerns were raised about the treatment of the suspects, with human rights activists warning against violence and torture. Despite the gravity of the accusations, the survivors called for a more humane approach towards the suspects, emphasizing the importance of upholding human rights principles. Eleven people have been detained in connection with the attack, with ongoing investigations to determine their involvement.

In the wake of the tragedy, people in Moscow paid tribute to the victims by laying flowers and candles outside the concert hall. Survivors shared their experiences of returning to the building ruins to honor those who lost their lives in the attack. The community in Moscow mourned the loss of lives and showed solidarity with the survivors, highlighting the need for support and compassion in the face of such devastating events. The survivors expressed their determination to overcome the trauma and move forward, underscoring the resilience and unity of the human spirit in times of tragedy.
