Bravo has renewed Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen following an investigation into allegations made against him by Brandi Glanville and Leah McSweeney. The network confirmed that the claims were found to be unsubstantiated. The late night talk show joins a lineup of other renewed programs on Bravo, including various Real Housewives franchises, The Valley, Summer House, Married to Medicine, Southern Charm, Southern Hospitality, and Below Deck. Additionally, Bravo will be launching two new reality shows: Making It in Manhattan and On Safari.
In February, Glanville accused Cohen of sexual harassment in a legal letter sent to NBC, Shed Media, and Warner Bros. She claimed that Cohen sent her a video of himself expressing a desire to have sex with another Bravo star and invited her to watch over FaceTime. Cohen responded to the accusations by stating that the video was a joke made with Below Deck alum Kate Chastain. Glanville worked closely with Cohen for over 10 years on various Real Housewives projects. Meanwhile, McSweeney filed a lawsuit against Cohen and Bravo, alleging rampant cocaine use at the network and favoritism towards housewives who use cocaine.
McSweeney claimed in court documents that Cohen engages in cocaine use with housewives he employs and provides them with favorable treatment. She also alleged that Cohen intentionally uses cocaine with employees to promote a workplace culture that thrives off drug and alcohol use. McSweeney stated that Bravo encouraged her to consume alcohol despite her focus on sobriety, which led to a relapse in alcohol addiction. In response, Cohen denied the claims and threatened McSweeney with legal action if she did not retract the allegations. He maintained that the accusations were false and solely meant to gain headlines and a quick payday.
Leah McSweeney’s lawyer has stated that additional lawsuits are forthcoming and more people will speak out against Cohen. Despite the perception of Cohen as a good guy and the expectation of drinking behavior, legal action is being pursued based on allegations of misconduct. The focus is on the legal implications of the behavior, with the belief that the law will deem the actions wrong. Cohen’s attorneys have reiterated that the allegations are false and have demanded retractions and apologies from accusers. The ongoing legal battle between Cohen and his accusers continues as they seek resolution to the allegations of sexual harassment and workplace misconduct at Bravo.
