Bodrum Gendarmerie Command teams stopped a truck in Akyarlar neighborhood yesterday evening on suspicion and found 20 illegal immigrants hidden among construction materials.
The organizers of the truck, suspects M.K., Ş.K., B.U., A.U., and A.A., were taken into custody.
It was determined that the suspects first brought the illegal immigrants from Izmir and settled them in a hotel to avoid drawing attention, and then they were caught red-handed by the gendarmerie while taking them to the beach to board a boat for crossing to the Greek islands.
The illegal immigrants were handed over to the Muğla Migration Management Directorate. The organizer suspects were taken to the courthouse this morning after their procedures at the gendarmerie.
