Police officer Levent Kaya, who was serving at the Çerkezköy District Police Department Security Office, passed away due to the cancer he was diagnosed with. He was married and had one child. A farewell ceremony was held for Kaya at the Çerkezköy District Police Department.
The ceremony was attended by Çerkezköy District Governor Nazmi Günlü, Mayor Vahap Akay, Provincial Police Director Hakan Fındık, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Ahmet Çetin, public institution managers, civil society organizations, and police personnel. The ceremony began with a minute of silence, followed by the reading of Kaya’s biography and recitation of the Quran. Kaya’s family and colleagues couldn’t hold back their tears during the ceremony.
Kaya’s coffin, draped in the Turkish flag, was carried on the shoulders of the ceremony procession to a funeral vehicle that would take him to Artvin, where he would be laid to rest. Kaya’s body was taken to Artvin for burial.
