A foreign student at a private high school on Beste Street in Alibeyköy Mahallesi blamed school principal İbrahim Oktugan (74) for his expulsion and shot him with a gun in his office. Oktugan, who was severely injured in the armed attack in his room, lost his life despite the interventions at the hospital after being taken there.
The suspect student who fled after the incident was caught by the police. The investigation of the suspect is currently ongoing.
According to eyewitness Sevil Küçük, she went outside when she heard shouting while drinking tea in the garden, and at that moment a woman was shouting, “Please call the ambulance quickly, he is dying.” Küçük stated that the ambulance and police arrived, and the injured person was taken out on a stretcher and put into the ambulance.
Küçük continued by saying, “The crime scene investigation team arrived and dispersed the students. Some went home, some were taken by their parents. After the students dispersed, they locked the door and went to the hospital. The situation seemed to be serious.”
Yunus Emre Tüynüklü also heard that the principal had expelled a student and stated, “He came to the school with a gun and shot the principal in the leg and abdomen.”
