Joe Burrow is making progress in his recovery from a torn ligament in his right wrist that ended his 2022 season prematurely. The Bengals quarterback has been cleared to throw, but he has not yet been cleared for contact. Burrow is hopeful that he will be fully ready to go by the time training camp starts. He had surgery on his wrist in November after suffering the injury in a game against Baltimore. Backup Jake Browning led the team to a 4-3 record in Burrow’s absence, but the Bengals missed the playoffs for the first time in three seasons, finishing 9-8 and last in the AFC North. Burrow described uncertainty as the most challenging aspect of his rehab, but he is happy with his progress and remains focused on getting better.

Burrow has dealt with injuries in the past, including a torn ACL in his rookie year in 2020 and a strained calf muscle during training camp in 2023. He mentioned the importance of being cautious and honest with himself about his body’s condition to avoid any setbacks in his recovery. Burrow emphasized the need to be smart about his workload during training camp and to listen to his body if he needs rest. He acknowledged that there may be some discomfort in his wrist at times, but he is determined to continue pushing forward while being mindful of his overall health.

Despite his injuries, Burrow’s teammates are relieved to see him back on the field and progressing in his recovery. Wide receiver Trenton Irwin noted that each player’s injury journey is personal, and it is impressive to see Burrow maintain his performance level despite the setbacks. Second-year receiver Andrei Iosivas praised Burrow’s leadership and his commitment to building chemistry with the team during workouts. Burrow’s presence and guidance are important for the team’s cohesion and development, especially as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Burrow’s focus on rehab and recovery reflects his dedication to returning to full strength for the Bengals. The 27-year-old quarterback understands the challenges of coming back from injury and the importance of taking a cautious approach to ensure his long-term health and performance. As he works towards being fully ready for training camp, Burrow remains optimistic about his progress and is grateful for the support of his teammates and coaches. The Bengals will be looking to Burrow as a key leader and playmaker on the field, and his commitment to his rehabilitation process is a positive sign for the team’s upcoming season.

In his recent team workout, Burrow showcased his throwing ability and positive outlook on his recovery from wrist surgery. Despite the challenges he has faced with injuries in the past, Burrow remains determined to overcome setbacks and return to form for the Bengals. The quarterback’s resilience and work ethic have earned the respect of his teammates, who are eager to see him back in action on the field. With Burrow’s focus and determination, the Bengals are optimistic about their prospects for the upcoming season and the impact he can make as their leader on offense.
