Heavy rainfall in the region caused many streets and roads to be flooded, with water collecting in puddles and drains overflowing, leading to some homes and businesses being inundated. Drivers faced difficulties on the roads due to the water build-up.
The Devlet Bahçeli Underpass was closed to traffic in both directions due to the accumulation of water, with vehicles stranded in the water being rescued by municipal teams, and efforts were made to clear blocked drains.
In some areas affected by the rain, homes were flooded with water. Eyüphan Denizhan, whose belongings were damaged due to the flooding in his home, said, “The rain caused flooding from the other side, as you can see we have lost everything. Our supplies, beds, blankets, carpets, everything is gone. As you can see, there is water everywhere, we have been trying to drain it since morning but we can’t do it.”
Belediye Meclis Member Şükrü Biliz mentioned that they learned that their neighbor’s house was flooded and immediately went to help. He stated, “Our brother’s house on 14539th Street of Yunus Emre neighborhood was flooded. As soon as we heard the news, our fire brigade team and colleagues provided emergency assistance. May God help the homeowner, we are doing our best to help.”
