The U.S. Soccer Federation and the Mexican soccer federation have decided to shift their focus towards hosting the 2031 Women’s World Cup. This decision comes after failing to secure the rights to co-host the men’s World Cup in 2026. The two federations had been working together on a bid to host the men’s tournament, but lost out to a joint bid from the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Despite this setback, they are now looking ahead to the women’s tournament and working together to put together a bid to host the event in 2031.

Both federations see the Women’s World Cup as an opportunity to showcase their countries’ passion for soccer and to promote the growth of the women’s game. The 2023 Women’s World Cup will be hosted by Australia and New Zealand, making the 2031 tournament the next opportunity for the United States and Mexico to host the event. By working together on a bid, the federations hope to strengthen their relationship and improve their chances of success in securing the rights to host the tournament. The Women’s World Cup has become increasingly popular in recent years, with record-breaking viewership and attendance numbers at the 2019 tournament in France.

Hosting the Women’s World Cup would not only be a point of pride for the United States and Mexico, but it would also provide an economic boost to the countries. The tournament would bring in tourists, create jobs, and generate revenue for local businesses. In addition, hosting a major international sporting event would help to promote soccer and inspire young girls to get involved in the sport. The U.S. Soccer Federation and the Mexican soccer federation are committed to growing the women’s game and providing opportunities for female players to compete at the highest level.

The decision to focus on the Women’s World Cup also reflects a shift in priorities for the federations, who are increasingly recognizing the importance of investing in women’s soccer. With the success of the U.S. women’s national team, which has won four World Cup titles and is consistently one of the top teams in the world, there is a growing demand for more opportunities for female players to compete. Hosting the Women’s World Cup would help to further raise the profile of women’s soccer and provide a platform for the best female players in the world to showcase their talent.

In order to secure the rights to host the 2031 Women’s World Cup, the U.S. Soccer Federation and the Mexican soccer federation will have to put together a strong bid that meets the requirements of FIFA, the governing body of world soccer. This will involve demonstrating their ability to host a successful tournament, with state-of-the-art facilities, transportation infrastructure, and security measures in place. The federations will also need to show their commitment to promoting gender equality in soccer and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for players and fans from around the world.

Overall, the decision to focus on hosting the 2031 Women’s World Cup represents an exciting opportunity for the U.S. Soccer Federation and the Mexican soccer federation to come together and showcase their countries’ passion for the game. By working together on a bid to host the tournament, they hope to not only bring the Women’s World Cup to North America but also to promote the growth of women’s soccer and inspire the next generation of female players. With the success of the U.S. women’s national team and the growing popularity of the Women’s World Cup, hosting the tournament would be a major milestone for both countries and a chance to make a positive impact on the future of the sport.
