Despite feeling transformed by the baptism, Brand emphasized that he is not perfect and still experiences irritation and challenges in his daily life. He mentioned his three children and job as factors that contribute to these challenges, but expressed hope that his baptism will be relevant to his family, particularly his children. Brand stated that he decided to get baptized for himself and feels incredibly blessed, relieved, nourished, and held by the experience, expressing gratitude for being surrendered in Christ.
In September 2023, Brand was accused of raping and sexually assaulting four women over the course of seven years from 2006 to 2013. The allegations included claims of rape, sexual assault, and abuse by multiple women, including one who was 16 years old at the time of the alleged incident.
