Viture founder David Jiang first showcased his prototype glasses at CES in January 2022, which raised $2.5 million on Kickstarter. The glasses, named the Virtual One, were praised for their innovative design and functionality, including a large 120″ screen that appears as if floating in front of the user’s eyes. Following this success, Virtue closed a Series A funding round of over $10 million, securing the necessary financial support to mass-produce the Virtual One and compete with industry giants like XReal.

The Viture One XR Glasses are sleek and lightweight, with a matte black or white finish that exudes simplicity. Setting up the glasses is simple; just plug them into a USB-C port, adjust the diopters for personalized focus, and you’re ready to go. With a weight of only 78 grams, the glasses are comfortable to wear for extended periods. The device seamlessly connects to various devices, including smartphones, PCs, and gaming consoles, making it extremely versatile and easy to use.

The display quality of the Viture One XR Glasses is impressive, with a resolution of 1080p per eye delivering crisp, vibrant visuals. The glasses also feature electrochromic film dimming for the external lenses, allowing users to adjust opacity based on lighting conditions. Equipped with built-in Harmon speakers, the glasses provide a spatial and immersive audio experience, enhancing the overall viewing experience for gaming and media consumption.

The glasses also come with a range of convenient features, such as a multi-function button that controls dimming, volume, brightness, and video pinning. By tapping and holding the button, users can switch between 2D and 3D modes for viewing content like spatial videos. Virtue offers accessories like an audio neckband and a mobile dock for gaming, although these accessories come at an additional cost. Despite some limitations, such as a modest field of view and occasional blurriness, the Viture One XR Glasses offer a plug-and-play solution for on-the-go video and gaming.

In a competitive market for Assisted Reality devices, the Viture One XR Glasses stand out for their ease of use, impressive display quality, and immersive audio experience. While not suitable for all-day productivity, the glasses offer a compelling solution for media consumption and entertainment. With offerings from competitors like XReal, Rokid, TCL Nextwear, and Ray-Neo, Viture’s focus on simplicity and functionality sets it apart in the growing AR industry. Overall, the Viture One XR Glasses provide a compelling and accessible entry point into the world of Assisted Reality.
