Ankara Province Health Directorate Monitoring, Evaluation, and Inspection Unit Responsible Yetkin Gürvardar made statements regarding the inspections conducted in health centers in the capital.
Gürvardar stated that the inspection team consists of 3 medical doctors, dentists, and auxiliary health personnel, and in addition to routine inspections, the teams also conduct extraordinary inspections regardless of working hours for applications made to the Ministry of Health Communication Center (SABIM) and the Presidential Communication Center (CIMER) through petitions.
“If no unsuitability or deficiency is detected in the inspection of a facility, the issue is forwarded to the relevant unit and the inspection file is closed. In case of any unsuitability or deficiency, the issues are thoroughly examined in the Sanctions Evaluation Commission carried out by the Directorate of Health Services within our directorate, including top management, lawyers, and unit managers. If necessary, we obtain expert opinions and examine the issues. After the issues are resolved, we share the commission’s results with the relevant stakeholders. Sometimes, we ensure that the files are transferred to the Social Security Institution, our Ministry, or the prosecution in case of a legal process.”
In 2023, a total of 2,129 administrative and punitive actions were taken
Gürvardar explained that the teams carry out their inspection processes through the Inspection and Monitoring System (Den-İz) prepared by the Ministry of Health in order to conduct inspection processes digitally for all healthcare facilities operating nationwide. He stated that the system allows monitoring of administrative sanctions and inspection numbers online.
Providing information about the administrative and punitive actions applied within the scope of inspections carried out in private, foundation, and university hospitals as well as outpatient treatment centers in Ankara, Gürvardar stated,
“In 2023, a total of 6,801 inspections were carried out, and 2,129 administrative and punitive measures were applied.
