The Sahil Güvenlik Mobil Radar (MORAD-12) stationed in the district detected groups heading towards the Greek island of Lesvos with two inflatable boats off the coast of Ayvalık.
Arriving in these areas, the “TCSG-905”, “TCSG-6” and “KB-115” teams captured 71 irregular migrants.
Among the irregular migrants were 20 children, who were brought to the Cunda Island within the borders of Ayvalık.
Foreign nationals were provided with humanitarian aid such as food, drink, medicine, and medical supplies by the personnel of the Coast Guard Command. Irregular migrants subject to prosecution will be handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
