A young boy from Rhode Island has turned his passion for animals into a successful business venture that has allowed him to adopt a kitten of his very own. Luca Aprin, 6, of Warwick, started a dog poop waste collection service called “Poopa Scoopa Luca” in order to earn money to bring home a shelter cat named Pebble. He charges $15 for single-dog yards and $20 for multiple dogs, cleaning the yards until they look brand new.
Though some may consider picking up dog poop to be an unpleasant task, Luca enjoys the work and finds it to be one of his favorite things to do. Along with his mother, Robyn Bouchard, Luca has been involved in volunteering at an animal shelter where he has helped foster and find homes for nearly 100 rescue animals. Luca’s dedication to helping animals and his strong work ethic have made him a valued member of the shelter team.
