The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change Bartın Provincial Directorate teams had launched an investigation after discovering that tons of garbage had been dumped on the road to the İnkumu Wild Dump Site, located 9 kilometers away from the city center over the weekend.
Following the investigation, it was determined that the Bartın Special Provincial Administration, as well as the municipalities of Bartın, Amasra, Kurucaşile, and Ulus, had left waste on the road leading to the garbage dump site.
In accordance with the Environmental Law, the Bartın Special Provincial Administration, Bartın Municipality, Amasra Municipality, Kurucaşile Municipality, and Ulus Municipality were each fined a total of 6,495,270 TL, with a fine of 1,299,054 TL for each entity.
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change announced through its social media account that administrative fines totaling 6,495,270 TL had been imposed on the Bartın Special Provincial Administration, Bartın Municipality, Amasra Municipality, Kurucaşile Municipality, and Ulus Municipality for the garbage dumped on the road to the İnkumu Wild Dump Site, located 9 kilometers away from the city center. The post stated that the investigation had been initiated in accordance with the Environmental Law and was intended to raise awareness regarding environmental protection.
The actions of dumping garbage illegally not only result in environmental pollution but also violate environmental laws, which can lead to significant fines. It is crucial for both authorities and citizens to take responsibility for proper waste disposal and contribute to protecting the environment for the well-being of the community and future generations. Hopefully, the imposed fines will serve as a deterrent to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future and encourage better waste management practices.
