In high-altitude settlements in the province, intermittent snowfall since yesterday is adversely affecting life. Due to the snow, transportation to 38 villages including 1 in the city center, 6 in Borçka, and 31 in Şavşat is not possible. The highways and Special Provincial Administration teams continue their efforts to clear the roads.
On the other hand, in order to prevent any disruption in transportation due to snow and ice on the Şavşat-Ardahan road route at the Sahara pass, the Highways teams conducted snow clearing and salting operations throughout the night. While the precipitation has lost its effect in the city, the snow thickness has reached 10 centimeters in Kafkasör Yaylası, one of the important tourism centers, and 20 centimeters in the Atabarı Ski Center.
