The Coast Guard Command received information about a rubber boat with irregular migrants on board drifting due to engine failure off the coast of Ayvalık and a distress signal was sent. In response, the Coast Guard Command sent the KB-4510 Coast Guard boat to the area. Upon reaching the rubber boat adrift in the Aegean Sea, the Coast Guard teams rescued 36 irregular migrants, including 14 children, and brought them to the Northern Aegean Coast Guard Command in Cunda Island.
At the Northern Aegean Coast Guard Command in Cunda Island, the migrants were provided with humanitarian aid such as food, drinks, clothing, medicine, and medical supplies. Following their rescue, the migrants will undergo necessary procedures and then will be transferred to the Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further assistance.
