The temperatures are expected to rise significantly in the coming days, with the south of the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands reaching or surpassing 30°C by Wednesday. The warm weather will then spread to other areas of the central and eastern part of the peninsula, reaching 30°C later in the week.
The upcoming weekend will see a further increase in temperatures, with values expected to be 5-10°C above the norm in many parts of the country. The weather will resemble that of late June or early July rather than the beginning of May. In terms of rainfall, the week ahead will be stable, with only isolated showers expected from Wednesday onwards. Although Monday and Tuesday may bring some showers, especially in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, the rest of the week will be mostly dry. There may be a chance of showers in the northern interior of the peninsula over the weekend.
Monday still holds remnants of instability, with thunderstorms expected in mountainous areas in the afternoon. These storms may be strong and accompanied by hail in some regions. Temperatures are not expected to rise significantly on Monday, with some areas in the eastern peninsula even experiencing a decrease of 6-8°C. Despite this, temperatures are set to rise in most of the country, with a potential increase of up to 6°C in regions like Galicia and Sevilla nearing 30°C.
As the high-pressure system establishes itself on Tuesday, most of the country will experience clear skies with only some remaining showers in the eastern Cantabrian regions. The Pyrenees and northern Catalonia may see increased rainfall in the afternoon, possibly heavy with snow expected above 1,800 meters in the Pyrenees. Some scattered showers are also likely in the Iberian System and the Balearic Islands. Windy conditions are expected in the northeast of the peninsula and the Balearic archipelago.
Wednesday will see a continuation of the rise in temperatures, with highs and lows increasing by up to 6°C in parts of the western and northern peninsula. Temperatures are forecasted to exceed 25°C in many central and southern regions, including the Ebro Valley and southern Galicia, and reach 30°C in the Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys. The trend of stable weather and rising temperatures will persist over the following days, with Thursday seeing a further increase in temperatures across much of the country.
By Friday, temperatures are expected to continue to rise, especially during the nighttime. Daytime temperatures will surpass 25°C in most areas and reach over 30°C in regions like the Ebro Valley, central Madrid, and the southern half of the country. The weekend may see some isolated showers in northern mountainous regions, but overall the weather is expected to remain stable with clear skies. Temperatures may slightly decrease in the northern regions, but remain warm throughout the country, especially in the eastern and southern parts. Canarias will also experience stable weather, with temperatures on the rise, reaching over 30°C in some areas.
