The Coast Guard teams of the Northern Aegean Group Command detected irregular migrants on a rubber boat off the coast of Ayvacık. The teams of the “CB-20” boats dispatched to the region rescued 29 irregular migrants, 6 of whom were children and all of whom were of Afghan nationality, after their boat drifted due to engine failure and they requested assistance. After being brought ashore, the foreign nationals were taken to the Ayvacık Foreigners Return Center for processing.
