The Sahil Güvenlik Komutanlığı, or Turkish Coast Guard, responded to a distress call from a boat carrying migrants that had been drifting due to a motor malfunction. Upon receiving the information, a team was dispatched to the area to provide assistance.
When the team arrived, they found a total of 26 irregular migrants on board the rubber boat, including 18 children. The coast guard successfully brought all the migrants safely to shore.
After being brought to shore, the migrants underwent official procedures and were then handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
This incident highlights the dangers that migrants face when attempting to cross the sea in search of a better life. It also serves as a reminder of the vital role that coast guards play in protecting the lives of those in distress at sea.
The Turkish Coast Guard continues to monitor the seas and respond to distress calls in order to ensure the safety and well-being of migrants and other individuals at sea.
As the number of migrants attempting to cross the sea remains high, it is crucial for authorities to be vigilant and ready to respond to emergencies in order to prevent tragedies and save lives.
