Following the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, the Ministry continues its efforts to rebuild the region. Minister Özhaseki presided over a meeting regarding Disaster Zone and Urban Transformation Works, where the detailed progress of the work in the earthquake-stricken area was discussed.
Emphasizing that their priority is to rebuild the earthquake-affected region as soon as possible, Özhaseki reminded that they have delivered 76,000 permanent houses to rightful owners in cities affected by the earthquake within a year. He also stated that they will deliver 200,000 houses by the end of the year and complete all of them by September 2025.
Özhaseki also mentioned that they are rapidly continuing the construction of disaster houses and village houses. He stated, “We are delivering the houses we have completed to the rightful owners stage by stage. We are also continuing our infrastructure works diligently to revive our cities. We are working tirelessly to ensure our citizens return to their homes as soon as possible and bring back the vibrancy to our cities.”
