In the district animal market, two farmers, Ramazan S. and Salih S., sold 4 cattle for 230,000 lira. When they tried to buy gold with the money at a jewelry store, they found out that the money was counterfeit. As a result, they went to the police to file a complaint.
Upon receiving the complaint, the Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch of the Burdur Provincial Security Directorate initiated an investigation. After carefully examining security camera footage, the authorities were able to identify the individuals, Ü.G. and E.B., who had purchased the animals with counterfeit money.
Following the investigation, the cattle were returned to their rightful owners. In a raid conducted at a location in Ilgın district of Konya, two suspects were apprehended. The suspects were brought to Burdur for further legal proceedings, and after completing the necessary paperwork at the police station, they were brought before a judge at the magistrate court and subsequently arrested.
Additionally, it was discovered that the suspects had also circulated counterfeit money by purchasing animals worth 469,600 lira at a livestock market in the Sorgun district of Yozgat. As a result of the operation, a total of 699,600 lira in counterfeit money was seized, and the 4 cattle found in the suspects’ barn were returned to their rightful owners.
