On the suspicion that an illegal health report was issued at a public hospital in the city, the Provincial Security Directorate Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch teams, coordinated by the Republic Prosecutor’s Office, detained 12 suspects yesterday. Expanding the investigation, the teams also captured 6 more suspects in Ankara and Istanbul. Among the 18 individuals sent to the courthouse after health checks, 3 of them are doctors.
The suspects, which include doctors, civil servants, retirees, security guards, technicians, teachers, employees of private companies, and housewives, reportedly made a profit of approximately 2.5 million lira by preparing nearly 300 illegal reports. In addition, efforts are ongoing to capture the suspect doctor E.B. who is currently at large. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the illegal activity and determine the involvement of all parties responsible for this fraudulent scheme.
