In the past month, the Narcotics Department of the Provincial Police Department conducted operations against drug trafficking, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of drugs. A total of 501,409 narcotic pills, 115 kilograms of heroin, 119 kilograms of marijuana, 832 grams of cocaine, 8,926 grams of synthetic drugs, 300 grams of opium gum, as well as 15 unlicensed pistols and 5 hunting rifles were confiscated during the operations.
As a result of the operations, 1019 suspects were detained. Of these, 169 were arrested on charges of drug trafficking, 36 were released under judicial control conditions, and 814 were processed for drug possession charges. Additionally, 38 individuals with finalized prison sentences for drug trafficking were apprehended and sent to prison.
Police officers conducted searches around schools, citrus orchards, and abandoned buildings in order to apprehend suspects. Furthermore, in an effort to raise awareness about drug addiction, educational programs were organized throughout the province, reaching a total of 45,516 individuals.
The successful operations led by the Narcotics Department resulted in a significant amount of drugs being taken off the streets and a large number of suspects being apprehended.
