ISTANBUL – A total of 157 suspects were arrested in operations targeting two separate organized crime groups led by B.B. and B.C.G, who are currently detained abroad due to a red notice issued by Interpol. The operations were carried out by the Anti-Organized Crime Branch Directorate of the Provincial Security Directorate, under the coordination of the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office. The suspects were detained in connection with a series of crimes, including intentional killing, attempted intentional killing, intentional injury, robbery, threats for robbery, arms trade, drug trafficking, endangering public safety, threats, and property damage.

After completing their health checks, the suspects were taken to court for further judicial proceedings. The Istanbul police initiated an investigation into the organized crime groups, which were involved in nearly 100 different incidents related to stolen cars or motorcycles. During the operations targeting the two crime organizations, a significant number of firearms, ammunition, explosives, drugs, and a large amount of cash in foreign and Turkish currency were seized during searches conducted at various locations.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the operation on October 14 through his social media account. The successful arrest of the suspects is a result of extensive efforts by the police. The operation aimed to dismantle the criminal activities of the organized crime groups and bring those responsible to justice. The high number of suspects arrested in the operations showcases the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in combating organized crime in the region.

The suspects will now face legal proceedings in court for their involvement in a wide range of criminal activities. The perpetrators are accused of various serious offenses, including violent crimes, drug trafficking, and illegal arms trade. The arrest of these suspects is a significant step towards maintaining public safety and preventing further criminal activities in the region.

The operations targeting organized crime groups are vital in dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of citizens. The successful arrest of 157 suspects involved in various criminal activities demonstrates the commitment of law enforcement agencies to combat organized crime. The authorities are determined to take strict action against individuals or groups involved in illegal activities and to uphold the rule of law in the region. The ongoing efforts to tackle organized crime will continue to be a top priority for law enforcement agencies in Istanbul to maintain peace and security in the city.
