After the incident at the Tünektepe Cable Car Facility in Sarısı location on Friday, an investigation was launched by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, leading to arrest warrants for 13 suspects. Among those detained were the Deputy General Manager of Anet A.Ş, B.S, mechanical engineer O.E, Anet occupational safety specialist M.A, the owners of the subcontracted maintenance company R.T. and S.T, the maintenance and automation supervisor of the company S.Y, mechanical maintenance supervisors S.K, K.K, O.K, Ö.E, machine technician H.A, and occupational safety specialist T.Ü.A.
One of the suspects, technician A.A, was found to be abroad at the time of the incident. The suspects were taken into custody and later transferred to the courthouse for further legal proceedings. Following the incident at the cable car facility during the Ramadan Bayram holiday rush on April 12, where lawyer Memiş Gümüş fell from the shattered cabin and lost his life at the age of 54, Özlem Şahin, Kaan Akgün, Fatih Gümüş, Keziban Çapar Gümüş, Lütfullah Kerim Gümüş, Herdem Eyüpoğlu, and Akmaral Abdyldaeva from Kyrgyzstan were injured.
Due to the system malfunction, 174 people were stranded in 24 cabins hanging in the air for approximately 22.5 hours before being rescued. The cable car facility, which was experiencing high traffic during the holiday season, suffered a tragic accident that resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries.
