1 person killed and 3 injured by shooters on scooters in the Bronx.

A shooting in the Bronx on a Tuesday evening left three men injured and one dead. Two scooters approached the scene, each carrying two men. The rear passengers on each scooter fired approximately 10 rounds, hitting four victims ranging in age from 23 to 37 years old. Deputy Commissioner of Operations Kaz Daughtry discussed the city’s efforts to crack down on scooters and illegal bikes on city streets. He mentioned that 9,500 scooters have been confiscated citywide this year, with a significant portion of them seized in the Bronx alone. Daughtry emphasized the importance of removing illegal scooters from the streets, linking them to criminal activity. He stated, “There is a direct relation to people riding around on illegal scooters and committing crimes.”
