Professional wrestling is known for its larger-than-life characters and impressive maneuvers, but sometimes things can go wrong. During a recent episode of Monday Night RAW, Kairi Sane and IYO SKY of Damage CTRL faced off against The Unholy Union in a No. 1 Contenders match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. During the match, Sane suffered an injury when she hit her head against the edge of the announcers’ table, resulting in a cut above her eye. Despite the scary moment, Sane was able to continue the match and was later checked out by WWE’s medical team.

Thankfully, Sane’s injury does not appear to be serious and she is not expected to miss any action. The tough wrestler even took to social media to share an image of the aftermath of the match, giving a thumbs up emoji and joking about needing an eye patch to match her Pirate Princess persona. Sane’s tag team partner, IYO SKY, also praised her toughness and resilience, highlighting Sane’s determination and dedication to the sport.

Kairi Sane has had an impressive career in professional wrestling, starting with World Wonder Ring Stardom under the ring name Kairi Hojo. During her time with Stardom, Sane won numerous championships before debuting with WWE in 2017. She went on to win the Mae Young Classic tournament and the NXT Women’s Championship, before joining WWE Friday Night Smackdown as part of the Kabuki Warriors with Asuka. Together, Sane and Asuka held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship twice, setting a record for the longest reign at 180 days.

After leaving WWE to return to Japan, Sane continued to compete in Stardom and New Japan Pro Wrestling before making a return to WWE in 2023. She helped IYO SKY retain the WWE Women’s Championship and later joined forces with SKY and Bayley to form Damage CTRL. Despite some changes in the faction’s lineup, Sane remains a key member and continues to showcase her skills and resilience in the ring. We wish Kairi Sane a speedy recovery after her recent injury and look forward to seeing her back in action soon.
