As Taylor Swift continues her Eras Tour across the globe, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for their upcoming NFL season with stadium dates set. The NFL announced that the Chiefs will kick off the 2024 season by facing off against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5 in a rematch of the AFC Championship game earlier in the year. The Chiefs ultimately went on to win the Super Bowl, with Swift in attendance at both games. Fans are excited for the season opener, especially with the matchup between quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes.
The season opener coincides with Swift’s ongoing tour, which will continue through Europe and Canada until December 8. Kelce recently signed a contract extension with the Chiefs through the end of the 2027 season, leading fans to speculate whether Swift will be at Arrowhead Stadium to support her boyfriend at the first game of the season. Given that Swift has no tour dates scheduled for September, she may have the opportunity to attend the game.
Swift and Kelce’s relationship began at a Kansas City Eras Tour show in July 2023 when Kelce attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it. After the failed flirting attempt was discussed on Kelce’s podcast, the two connected and officially started dating. Swift attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023, and in a TIME Person of the Year cover story, she revealed that they had a significant amount of time to get to know each other before publicly announcing their relationship.
Kelce has been supportive of Swift’s music career, attending many of her Eras Tour concerts and even traveling to Paris for the last show in France. At the concert, Kelce was seen singing and dancing along to Swift’s songs, most notably “So High School” from The Tortured Poets Department, which is rumored to be inspired by him. Swift also appeared to give Kelce a nod by wearing the Chiefs’ red and yellow colors during parts of the show and performing a song from TTPD speculated to be about Kelce, “The Alchemy”, as one of her surprise songs.
As both Swift and Kelce continue to support each other in their respective careers, fans are excited to see if Swift will be in attendance at Kelce’s first game of the 2024 NFL season. The couple’s relationship began at an Eras Tour show, and they have continued to spend time together amidst their busy schedules. With Swift’s tour scheduled through December and Kelce signed with the Chiefs for several more seasons, fans can expect to see more of the couple supporting each other on and off the field.
