A swim retailer conducted research to determine the most Instagrammable beaches in the United States, aiming to provide options for summer vacation destinations. The top 20 beaches were mainly located in Florida and California, with appearances from states like Washington, New York, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. The data was gathered by identifying 250 popular beaches in America using TripAdvisor and OpenAI, and then counting the number of American beach hashtag posts, totaling 91.6 million.

Miami Beach, Florida, secured the top spot with an impressive 16.5 million hashtag posts, double the amount of the second-ranked beach. South Beach, also in Florida, had almost twice as many hashtag posts as the third beach on the list. Palm Beach, Florida, followed closely behind in third place. Newport Beach in California was ranked fourth, with its picturesque sunsets being a notable feature. Long Beach, Washington, rounded out the top five, known for its appealing boardwalk.

The summer weather norms for the top beaches varied across the locations, with Miami Beach experiencing high temperatures of 87.3 degrees and low temperatures of 77.5 degrees, along with 21.25 inches of summer rain. South Beach and Palm Beach in Florida, as well as Newport Beach in California, had similar weather patterns with high temperatures ranging from 71.1 to 89.4 degrees and low temperatures between 63.8 and 75.8 degrees, along with varying levels of summer rainfall. Long Beach in Washington had a high temperature of 64.5 degrees, a low of 50.7 degrees, and 5.33 inches of summer rain.

In addition to the top five beaches, the remaining top 20 beaches included locations like Newport Beach in New York, Venice Beach, Huntington Beach, and Laguna Beach in California, Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, Virginia Beach in Virginia, Sunset Beach in North Carolina, and Ocean Beach, Manhattan Beach, Daytona Beach, Redondo Beach, Pacific Beach, and Clearwater Beach in Florida, as well as Panama City Beach in Florida and Waikiki Beach in Hawaii. These beaches each had varying numbers of hashtag posts, displaying their popularity among social media users seeking visually appealing beach experiences.
