Russian lawmaker Denis Kharitonov, a supporter of President Vladimir Putin, claims to have survived a failed assassination attempt after his car was blown up while he was driving through an occupied city in Ukraine. Despite the vehicle being completely engulfed in flames, Kharitonov managed to save documents belonging to a severely injured comrade during the explosion. Filiponenko was identified as a “war criminal” and “executioner” responsible for operating inhumane torture camps in Luhansk, where prisoners of war and civilians were subjected to cruel treatment.
