Cyclists draw attention to the invasion of roads by bicycle logo brands and call on drivers to be more sensitive.

Haluk Ay, a cyclist from Konya who has been actively riding a bike for the past 10 years, stated that Konya has the longest bike path network in Turkey with 635 kilometers.

Ay highlighted the significant contributions and projects of Konya Metropolitan Municipality in promoting bicycle usage, but mentioned that respect for cyclists in traffic has not been fully established yet. He emphasized the importance of respecting cyclists on the road and called on drivers to give way and protect the rights of cyclists.

“Cyclists want to ride safely”

Cyclist İsmail Berat Tanoğlu pointed out that the invasion of bike lanes by drivers could lead to accidents with fatal consequences. He expressed hope that awareness campaigns would bring positive results.

Another cyclist, Yakup Özyurt, stated that awareness campaigns are a good way to draw attention from drivers and emphasized the need for drivers to be more conscious on the road.

Elzem Arıkan, a long-time cyclist, mentioned that bike lanes are sometimes invaded not only by drivers but also by pedestrians.

Ahmet Kaan Alp praised the awareness project and expressed confidence that the sensitivity towards cycling in Konya will spread throughout society. He emphasized the importance of mutual respect and understanding in resolving the issues related to traffic and cycling, stating, “As we respect each other and smile, problems will be solved.”
