Steel City Interactive has announced that they have raised over £15m in funding for the release of the highly anticipated boxing video game, Undisputed. The independent studio behind the game plans to bring boxing back to video games and deliver an authentic experience that does justice to the sport. This funding round was led by Novator Ventures, with contributions from London Venture Partners and boxing industry veterans Egis Klimas and Jose de la Cruz who have joined the team as advisors.

Novator Ventures’ Chairman, Thor Björgólfsson, expressed excitement about partnering with Steel City Interactive to bring Undisputed to the market. He noted that there has been a lack of high-quality licensed boxing video games in the past decade, making Undisputed a highly anticipated release in the gaming industry. The game is set to be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with a release date expected before Christmas.

Undisputed has also secured Deep Silver as its publisher, adding further credibility to the project. The latest updates to the early access version of the game have been detailed in a recent video release. The improvements focus on areas such as movement, physics, and punch impact feel, with a strong emphasis on delivering a realistic and engaging gameplay experience. The roster for Undisputed will feature over 70 licensed fighters, including big names like Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford, and Deontay Wilder.

One of the most exciting developments surrounding Undisputed is the potential inclusion of YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul in the game. Paul confirmed that he has been in talks with Steel City Interactive about his involvement, which could bring significant attention and promotion to the title. Adding popular figures like Paul to the roster could help expand the game’s reach and appeal to a wider audience. As more information on the official release date becomes available, fans can expect further updates on the game’s progress and features. Undisputed is shaping up to be a major release in the world of boxing video games, with high expectations for its success and impact on the gaming community.
