Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted and destroyed nine out of twelve Shahed-type drones that Russia launched from Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea. In addition, Russian forces also launched four S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles onto Donetsk Oblast. The drones were intercepted over Kherson, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Poltava oblasts, with drone fragments reportedly causing a fire near a grain elevator in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Thankfully, no casualties or injuries were reported as a result of the drone attacks. Ukraine’s Air Force mobilized mobile fire groups to repel the air attacks, which have become a daily occurrence in the country. In response to the attacks, Poland scrambled fighter jets to protect its airspace as a precautionary measure.
