A fatal car accident occurred on the Istanbul-Izmir Highway near the Kılıç Junction, when a car driven by Abdurrahman Karataş collided with another car driven by Ömer Faruk, both heading towards Istanbul. The impact caused both vehicles to spin out of control and collide with the barriers on the side of the road, eventually coming to a stop after skidding approximately 60 meters.

In the accident, the driver Karataş and passenger Buğra Demir Ülgül were ejected from the vehicle. Unfortunately, Karataş and another passenger in the same car, Cem Agin, lost their lives at the scene, while six other passengers in the vehicles sustained injuries.

Emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon receiving the report, and the injured individuals were transported to hospitals in Yalova. It was reported that the condition of three of the injured individuals was critical.

Following the accident, gendarmerie teams arrived at the scene to secure the area, and traffic was temporarily redirected to a single lane. Once the vehicles were removed and debris cleared from the road, normal traffic flow resumed.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, as authorities work to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic collision. The families of the deceased passengers and those injured in the accident have been notified, and support services are being provided to those affected by the incident.
