Terme Mayor Şenol Kul visited 25-year-old Ilker Sahin, a native of Samsun Termeli, who was shot in various parts of his body as a result of a terrorist attack on the Turkish Aerospace and Space Industries in Ankara. The attack left Sahin with 4 bullets lodged in his body, and he was taken to Sincan Training and Research Hospital for treatment. Mayor Kul spoke with hospital officials to gather information about Sahin’s treatment and also had a conversation with Sahin’s father and family to inquire about any needs they may have.

Ilker Sahin, who works as a technician at TUSAŞ, recounted the moments of the cowardly attack to Mayor Kul, stating, “It was our shift change time at work when they suddenly started attacking. The sound of gunshots made everyone around me fall to the ground. I was shot in the leg but didn’t feel it at the time in the heat of the moment. Later, they took me to the hospital by ambulance. I had 4 bullets in my body and they removed 3 of them, leaving one near the nerves in my leg. They cannot intimidate us with such treacherous attacks. We will continue to produce for our country. As soon as I leave here, I will return to work for my homeland.” Mayor Kul expressed his best wishes for the recovery of the wounded soldier, praising his resilience and passing on the soldier’s greetings to the people of Terme.

In a previous meeting with the wounded soldier in their district, Mayor Kul had the chance to discuss the incident. Upon learning of Sahin’s injuries, he promptly visited him in the hospital to offer his support. Reflecting on the attack on TUSAŞ in Ankara’s Kahramankazan facilities, which resulted in the loss of lives of some of our nation’s valuable children, Mayor Kul expressed his condolences for the martyrs and wished a speedy recovery for the wounded. He extended his thoughts and prayers to the affected families and the entire nation, mourning the loss of the martyrs and hoping for the quick healing of the injured individuals.

The terrorist attack on TUSAŞ in Kahramankazan claimed the lives of 5 people and left 22 others wounded. Despite the tragic incident, the wounded soldier Ilker Sahin remains determined and committed to serving his country. Mayor Kul’s visit to the hospital to support Sahin and his family serves as a symbol of solidarity and unity in the face of adversity. The community of Terme stands together in honoring the sacrifices made by these brave individuals and remains steadfast in their mission to continue working for the prosperity and security of their homeland. The resilience and courage shown by Ilker Sahin and his fellow colleagues serve as a testament to the unwavering spirit of the Turkish people in the face of such heinous acts of violence.
