Alex Ray Scott, a trans “baby-faced” killer, has been sentenced to 22 years-to-life in prison for the brutal stabbing death of New York City antiques dealer Kenneth Savinski. Scott, who began transitioning into a woman while in jail, was found guilty of the January 2020 killing of Savinski in his Upper East Side apartment using a decorative plate and kitchen knife. Manhattan District Attorney Bragg expressed hope that the resolution of the case would bring a sense of justice to Savinski’s loved ones, who were devastated by his loss.
In addition to the murder of Kenneth Savinski, Scott has also been sentenced in Oklahoma to 45 years in prison for a separate dismemberment killing in which the victim was decapitated with a chainsaw. Scott pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and multiple counts of criminal possession in Savinski’s death. The two had met on a dating app and were spending the evening together when the murder occurred. Savinski was found with severe wounds on his head and neck, and after the killing, Scott stole credit cards from him and claimed not to remember the attack.
Following the murder of Kenneth Savinski, Scott walked into a New York police precinct and confessed to another killing, leading investigators to the home of Robin Skocdopole in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Skocdopole’s home was found empty of possessions and bloodstains, with his remains eventually discovered near a creek in May 2020. Scott had been renting a room from Skocdopole and had told others that the landlord had moved to Dallas for work, concealing the true nature of Skocdopole’s disappearance. A medical examiner’s report revealed that two different saws were used in the dismemberment of Skocdopole.
Upon his arrest, Scott agreed to take the FBI to the location of Skocdopole’s head, but no other remains were found. The gruesome details of the murders in both New York and Oklahoma highlight the violent and depraved nature of Scott’s crimes. Despite starting the process of transitioning into a woman, Scott’s actions demonstrate a disregard for human life and a willingness to commit heinous acts.
