Alex Ray Scott, a 28-year-old transgender individual who began transitioning to a woman while in jail, was recently sentenced to 22 years-to-life in prison for the murder of New York City antiques dealer Kenneth Savinski. Scott was convicted of stabbing Savinski to death with a decorative plate and kitchen knife in January 2020. In addition to the New York murder, Scott was also sentenced in Oklahoma to 45 years in prison for a separate dismemberment killing in which the victim was decapitated. Scott had been living with Skocdopole and attempted to explain his disappearance by claiming he had moved to Dallas for work. However, investigators found the home empty of possessions and pools of blood inside, leading to Scott’s arrest.
Scott and Savinski met on a dating app and were spending the night together when the murder occurred. Savinski was found with multiple wounds, including a broken hyoid bone, slit throat, and deep lacerations across his face and forehead. Scott stole Savinski’s credit cards after the killing and claimed to have no memory of the attack. Following the murder, Scott walked into a police precinct and confessed to killing someone, leading to the discovery of Skocdopole’s disappearance in Oklahoma.
Despite Scott’s agreement to lead authorities to the location of Skocdopole’s head, no additional remains were found. The medical examiner’s report indicated that two different saws were used in Skocdopole’s dismemberment.
