According to a statement from the Istanbul Police Department, certain traffic measures have been taken throughout the city due to the overlap of the Ramadan Holiday and the second term school break from April 5 to April 15. In order to minimize the negative effects of traffic congestion and prevent fatal and injury traffic accidents, heavy tonnage vehicles transporting goods will not be allowed to exit on the D-100 Highway, O-7 North Marmara, TEM Highway, and all connecting roads, as well as truck garages, customs areas, ports, warehouses, and other similar locations.

Considering that citizens will be returning to the city on April 13-14, entry of heavy tonnage vehicles such as trucks, concrete mixers, etc. will not be allowed from 5:00 AM on April 14 until 5:00 AM on April 15. This decision has been made with the aim of reducing traffic congestion and ensuring the safety of individuals on the roads during this period of increased travel.

These traffic measures are being implemented with the intention of creating a safer environment on the roads during the upcoming holiday period. By restricting the movement of heavy tonnage vehicles, authorities hope to reduce the risk of accidents and possible injuries, particularly during a time when many will be traveling to and from the city to celebrate the holidays and spend time with family and friends.

Moreover, special attention is being paid to areas where heavy tonnage vehicles are typically present, such as truck garages, ports, and customs areas. By preventing the exit of these vehicles from these locations during the specified period, police are aiming to alleviate traffic congestion and ensure a smoother flow of traffic for individuals returning to the city after the holidays.

In conclusion, these traffic measures are being taken in order to prioritize the safety and well-being of individuals traveling during the overlap of the Ramadan Holiday and the school break. By restricting the movement of heavy tonnage vehicles on key highways and roads, authorities are working to minimize the risk of accidents and create a safer environment for all motorists during this busy period. Citizens are advised to plan their travels accordingly and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the authorities to ensure a smooth and safe journey.
