East Hampton has seen a shift in its retail landscape over the past couple of years, with major European luxury brands taking over the main street. However, this year has brought a wave of independent and cult brands opening up chic new locations in the Hamptons. From Staud to Gucci to Sunshine, there are plenty of new spots to shop for everything from clothing to homewares. LA-based Staud, known for its celebrity fans and beach-to-bar ready-to-wear, has opened a new store in East Hampton, with a separate location for swimwear. Gucci’s refreshed store at 17 Newtown Lane offers a coastal theme with stylish bathing suits, resort wear, and handbags for shoppers to peruse.

Khaite, a New York brand favored by Meghan Markle and Katie Holmes, has opened a new shop in East Hampton, offering sophisticated wares like long tailored dresses and oversize jackets. Me + Em, a British brand known for its smart but affordable dresses and swimwear, is also making its debut in the Hamptons. Streetwear designer Eric Emanuel is bringing his bold basketball shorts and T-shirts to East Hampton, catering to fans like Justin Bieber and Travis Scott. Veronica Beard, known for its signature Dickey jackets, has expanded to East Hampton with a new store featuring scuba suiting and butter-soft ballet flats.

Sail to Sable Cabana and Peter Millar’s new stores offer premium clothing for men and women in East Hampton. Wave Pet Wellness Boutique, owned by veterinarian Cindy Bressler, provides health and longevity products for pets. Barnes & Noble’s new branch in Montauk Highway offers a variety of literary products, games, DVDs, and vinyl. In Sag Harbor, Dôen has set up a shop with vintage-inspired dresses and swimsuits, while Love Binetti brings patterned silk caftans to the area. TWP, founded by Trish Wescoat Pound, offers unlined jackets and slouchy trousers for a chic wardrobe addition.

Road to Nowhere, Southern Tide, and BROdenim offer sustainable and stylish clothing options in Sag Harbor. Serena & Lily’s family-friendly coastal design shop is expanding with outdoor furniture options. Duryea’s Boutique carries branded merchandise, wellness products, and home goods, adding to the popular seafood restaurant’s retail offerings. Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing is celebrating the brand’s 10-year anniversary with a pop-up boutique at The Pridwin Hotel & Cottages on Shelter Island. Overall, the Hamptons retail scene is seeing a mix of luxury brands, independent designers, and lifestyle offerings for a diverse shopping experience.
