A new high-tech golf league, the TGL, co-founded by Tiger Woods, is set to debut in January 2025 with six teams of PGA Tour golfers, with primetime broadcasts on ESPN and ESPN+. Woods’ team, Jupiter Links Golf Club, is based in South Florida, specifically in the town of Jupiter, where he and many other pro golfers reside. The team has recently filled out its roster with popular and engaging players Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner, none of whom actually live in Jupiter.

Max Homa, 33, is known for his engaging personality on social media and his quick wit. He has over 660,000 followers on both Twitter and Instagram and has had success on the PGA Tour, with six victories. Tom Kim, 21, is a rising star in the golf world with seven international tournament titles and three PGA Tour wins. He gained attention for his youthful exuberance and likeable personality on Netflix’s “Full Swing.” Kevin Kisner, 40, is a four-time PGA Tour winner who has also been successful in broadcasting on NBC Sports PGA Tour telecasts.

The team rosters for the TGL include Atlanta Drive, Boston Common Golf, Jupiter Links Golf Club, Los Angeles Golf Club, TGL New York, and TGL San Francisco. Each team is led by prominent figures in the sports and entertainment world and features a lineup of top golfers. Some players, such as Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee, and Shane Lowry, do not yet have team assignments, while replacements have not been named for Tyrell Hatton and Jon Rahm after their move to LIV Golf.

The TGL format includes both “Screenplay” and “Greenplay” in front of about 1,600 fans, creating an immersive and interactive experience for both players and viewers. The league aims to bring fun and competition together, with Woods expressing excitement about the mix of talent on his Jupiter-based team. Other teams are based in major cities such as Boston, Los Angeles, and New York, bringing together a diverse group of golfers and personalities.

The TGL is set to showcase some of the game’s top talent in a new and innovative format, with the involvement of high-profile figures like Tiger Woods adding to the anticipation. With the debut scheduled for 2025, fans can look forward to seeing how this new league will revolutionize the sport of golf and create an exciting platform for players to showcase their skills and engage with their audience in a whole new way.
