Police teams warned a vehicle parked in the middle of the road in Haseki Sultan Mahallesi on May 17th, causing a disruption in traffic flow, to be towed. E.K, İ.H.K, and A.K, who approached the vehicles, first verbally threatened and insulted two plainclothes police officers on duty and then attacked them. During the scuffle, the police officers who were injured as a result of the suspects’ fist attack fired warning shots into the air.
The police officers managed to subdue the suspects by using force and during a search of the vehicle, a quantity of drugs and a drug-testing kit were seized.
The three suspects were detained and sent to judicial authorities on charges of “resisting a public official,” “insulting,” “threatening,” “intentional injury,” and “drug use.” They were subsequently arrested by the judiciary.
The incident was captured by a security camera of a nearby establishment. The footage showed the altercation between the suspects and the police officers, followed by the firing of warning shots into the air and the suspects being subdued and arrested.
