A tragic incident occurred at a detached house on Salkım Street in Olay, Oğulbey District.
When Seda Kolkaya returned home from school, she noticed that the door was not opening. With the help of her neighbors, Seda managed to open the door and saw that the roof of the annex at the back of the house had collapsed and the firewood had fallen.
Not finding her mother Semra Kolkaya at home, Seda suspected that her mother was trapped under the firewood and immediately contacted the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Health, police, and Tokat Municipality fire department teams, who were dispatched to the scene, determined that the woman was trapped under the rubble.
The teams started the rescue operation to reach the woman. The woman, who was rescued from the rubble, was taken to Tokat State Hospital by health teams. Despite the efforts of the doctors, Semra Kolkaya could not be saved.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
