John Krasinski’s new family comedy movie “IF” is set to hit theaters nationwide on Friday. The film follows the story of a widower dad, played by Krasinski himself, who faces a scary heart operation with childlike enthusiasm. His 12-year-old daughter, Bea, played by Cailey Fleming, tries to reunite imaginary friends known as IFs with their old child pals after meeting Cal, played by Ryan Reynolds, the caretaker of these abandoned imaginary friends.

While Krasinski, Reynolds, and Fleming play human roles in the movie, there are several Hollywood A-listers who voice the imaginary friends. Bradley Cooper voices Ice, a glass of water with an ice cube, while Steve Carell voices Blue, a purple fluffy creature named by a colorblind child. Phoebe Waller-Bridge voices Blossom, a key imaginary friend who misses her old dancer friend, while Matt Damon voices Flower, a cheerful sunflower. Louis Gossett Jr., who passed away in April, voices Lewis, who watches over the abandoned IFs in a hidden retirement facility near Coney Island in New York City. Emily Blunt voices Unicorn, with a sunny disposition who can create rainbows, making it a sort of reunion for her and Krasinski, her husband, with whom she previously shared the screen in “A Quiet Place.”

Joining the star-studded cast of voice actors are George Clooney as Spaceman, Maya Rudolph as Ally Alligator, Keegan-Michael Key as Slimball, Sam Rockwell as Super Dog, and many more. This ensemble cast adds an extra layer of star power to the movie, which also stars Richard Jenkins as Art Teacher, a wooden animation figure. The film is a reunion of sorts for Carell and Krasinski, who worked together on the classic sitcom “The Office.” The plot revolves around Bea trying to reconnect the IFs with their old child pals, leading to a heartwarming and humorous story that the whole family can enjoy.

With a mix of talented voice actors and a heartwarming storyline, “IF” promises to be an entertaining and uplifting family comedy. The movie explores themes of friendship, nostalgia, and the power of imagination, reminding viewers of the innocence and magic of childhood. As viewers watch Bea navigate the world of imaginary friends, they may find themselves reminiscing about their own childhood companions. With its talented cast and charming premise, “IF” is sure to be a hit with audiences of all ages.
