For the third day in a row, a devastating storm has been affecting regions in Spain, following heavy rainfall in Málaga, Tarragona, and Valencia. The storm is slowly moving towards the southwest, bringing heavy rains to western Andalusia, while Valencia and Málaga continue to be affected particularly in the morning. Valencia remains under a red weather alert until 12:00 PM, while the alert for Málaga was lifted early in the morning. Additional orange alerts are in place for four Andalusian provinces (Málaga, Cádiz, Huelva, and Sevilla), as well as in Alicante, with yellow alerts issued for Almería, Córdoba, Granada, Ávila, Extremadura, and A Coruña. The storm has already brought significant rainfall, with 142 liters per square meter in Málaga, 82 in Pego (Alicante), and 82 in Granada.

The storm is expected to continue moving towards the southwest, with more heavy rainfall anticipated in Valencia and Málaga, potentially exceeding 100-150 liters per square meter. In Valencia’s coastal areas, rainfall may surpass 150 liters in just a few hours, while other regions like Sevilla, Huelva, and Cádiz could see 80-100 liters of rainfall throughout the day. Further precipitation is also forecasted in the Mediterranean and southwest regions of the peninsula, albeit of lesser intensity. Temperatures are expected to rise significantly across Spain, with a notable rise expected in the northern regions. The storm is predicted to remain almost stationary southwest of the Peninsula on Friday, with continued rainfall in the Mediterranean area, albeit less severe.

By Saturday, the storm is expected to subside, with more stable weather conditions across the country. Temperatures will rise further, with temperatures exceeding 20° in the Cantabrian region and almost 25° in the Guadalquivir valley. Only three yellow weather alerts are expected to remain in Andalusia, Castile and León, and Extremadura. By Sunday, the weather is anticipated to be calmer, with some possible showers in western parts of the Peninsula, particularly in the west. In the Mediterranean region, the weather is expected to be much calmer, with the rainfall finally ceasing. Temperatures will continue to rise, with temperatures exceeding 25° in the Guadalquivir valley, bringing an end to the stormy weather that has been affecting the region.
