In the village of Smurfs, 20-year-old Mustafa Doğan won the competition for village headman against five other candidates. In the 100-house village with 134 voters, Doğan surpassed his competitors aged 45, 59, 64, and 65 by receiving 35 out of 108 valid votes, securing the position of headman.

Receiving his certificate at the Ulus Courthouse from the District Electoral Board President Ahmet Ali Kocaağa, Doğan was met with the interest and congratulations of other headmen. Doğan expressed his happiness, joy, and pride at starting the role in an interview with journalists.

Doğan stated that after seeing the shortcomings in the village, he decided to become a candidate and plans to implement road construction and bridge projects for the cemetery. He added, “They call me ‘The Cute Headman of the Smurfs Village’ and make jokes with these nice phrases. We will prioritize the repair of our roads. We also have a bridge project for the cemetery.”

The headman of the village of Aşağıçerçi, Ertan Kaya, expressed their happiness at the election of a young headman from their district. Kaya congratulated Doğan for his courage and leadership shown to the young people and stated that they would do their best to assist him with their experience. He wished Doğan success in his new role.
