In the early hours of the morning, a scuffle broke out between a police officer and two suspects during an identity check at the İDO Pier location in Avcılar District, Istanbul. One of the suspects, E.B., shot and injured the officer, B.K., who was attempting to handcuff him.

The other night watchmen who arrived at the scene managed to apprehend the fleeing suspects along with the firearm used in the incident. The injured officer was promptly taken to the hospital by medical teams and it was reported that his condition was stable.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that E.B. had a criminal record consisting of 8 offenses, including 3 counts of assault and 1 count of robbery. The other suspect, C.G., had a total of 50 criminal records, primarily for assault, and was also wanted by the authorities.

After being taken to the police station, C.G. and E.B. were subsequently charged and brought before a judge. Both suspects were remanded into custody by the court pending further legal proceedings. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers that law enforcement officers face while carrying out their duties to ensure public safety.
