Rescue efforts are currently underway to reopen the Kütahya-Seyitömer road, which was submerged under lake waters due to a landslide on May 21 near the town of Seyitömer, 33 kilometers away from the city center of Kütahya. The road is located near a lignite mine operated by a private company. Governor Musa Işın visited the site to inspect the ongoing work and gather information from officials.

Governor Işın stated to the media after the inspection that all teams are working together in a coordinated manner to reopen the road to traffic as soon as possible. He mentioned that approximately 3 months ago, a landslide occurred in the area followed by flooding in the lake, causing the closure of the Kütahya-Seyitömer-Bozüyük connection road. To address this issue, the General Directorate of Highways, the Seyitömer municipality, and the Provincial Administration immediately started working to reopen the road. It was decided to raise the level of the road by 4 meters while preserving its route. The General Directorate of Highways teams are currently working intensively in this direction, with plans to reopen the road for service within the next month.

Governor Işın emphasized that efforts are being made to reopen the road for traffic while ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to prevent similar incidents from reoccurring. AK Party Kütahya Deputy İsmail Çağlar Bayırcı, Seyitömer Mayor Mahmut Yol, AK Party Provincial Chairman Mustafa Önsay, and other officials accompanied Governor Işın during his visit to the site.

The landslide near the lignite mine in the Seyitömer region had caused the road to become submerged under lake waters, disrupting the transportation link between Kütahya-Seyitömer-Bozüyük. The collaborative efforts of various government agencies and the local municipality aim to reopen the road by increasing its level by 4 meters to prevent similar incidents in the future. Governor Işın assured the public that the road will be reopened for traffic within the next month while emphasizing the importance of taking necessary precautions to avoid such disasters in the future.

The General Directorate of Highways, the Seyitömer municipality, and the Provincial Administration are working together to address the road closure caused by the landslide in the Seyitömer region. Governor Işın and other officials inspected the site to oversee the ongoing rescue efforts and gather information regarding the progress of the work. The road is expected to be reopened within a month, allowing for normal traffic flow and restoring the vital connection between Kütahya and Seyitömer.
